Hi I’m Nina!
I was born and raised in Washington D.C. and there is where I began honing my skills as a hairstylist at the age of 16 years old. Shortly after graduating high school, I had the opportunity to attend the renowned Bennett Hair School. Now, as an in-demand hair stylist for over the last 20+ years, I’ve acquired a client list of over 1,000 women and men, I have rendered over 10,000 services, been rebooked 90% of the time, and average two new clients per week.
In addition to being a best-selling Author, I have received many industry awards: Golden Scissors Colorist of the Year, New Salon of the Year, and Salon Stage Presentation, just to name a few – no matter the accolades I have garnered I still remain humble. I do what I do for a living because I love helping women and men like you, look and feel your most confident and badass self.

As an innovator and visionary with a keen eye for detail, Malik Edwards takes pleasure in telling stories that engage his audience; whether it is through conversation, photography or through his filming. Malik has a background in journalism and is the producer for the Digital Media Center at Morgan State University. He’s also the founder of Higherlearning Media and is dedicated to capturing and defining authentic moments, one frame at a time. Through his media projects, he has captured notable celebrities, such as Russell Westbrook, Keisha Cole, The Tribe Called Quest, Cedric the Entertainer, and Damon Williams. Malik has also worked on a documentary project under the leadership of Melissa Haizlip on MR. SOUL! which recently won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Documentary (Television or Motion Picture). He holds a Master’s in Journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, received his undergraduate degree in Broadcast and Integrated Media Production from Morgan State University.
